Historically important BRM P154 chassis number 2 was raced by Pedro Rodriguez in the 1971 Can Am series, with a best finish of 3rd place for the Tony Soutgate designed car. Featuring an all aluminium Chevrolet big block engine and 4 speed Hewland LG gearbox, the car was competitive in the series although due to its short wheelbase required the skills of a top line driver to put it on the podium. At the end of the season the car was dismantled and the common parts were to be utilised in the replacement car the P167. This chassis was sold along with the still complete sister P154 #01 car to Hillclimb champion David Hepworth with the intention that it would be reassembled with factory assistance to create a semi works two car team to enter European Interserie race series. Unfortunatly a second funded driver never materialised to run alongside David and as such P154 #02 never got reassembled before David then bought the entire P167 project when BRM's position ment they had to put all resources behind the Formula 1 team.
After recieving an invite to the 2016 Goodwood festival of Speed, it was decided to rebuild the car and it was certainly one of the star attractions presented in the specification as driven by the legendry Pedro Rodriguez and would be an important part of any serious racecar collection.
We are able to supply back up and all parts from the original moulds, jigs patterns and drawings so that the new owner could race this car in many prestigious events around the world.
